Releases from Exile, Nov-Dec 1979 (55.4-2)

<<No 55 : 31 December 1979>>

[1]

On 29 November 1979, Stefaniya Shabatura (CCE 44.19, CCE 48.11) completed her three-year term of exile in the Urals (Kurgan Region). On release she was told that she would now be under administrative surveillance for six months.

They told her to go straight to Lvov and gave her an itinerary for exactly how she was to get there. She arrived in Lvov on 2 December 1979. Two days before Shabatura’s arrival, her mother was summoned to the KGB and told that it would be ‘better’ if her daughter settled in a village outside Lvov, rather than in the city itself.
