HUMAN RIGHTS YEAR IN THE SOVIET UNION: A Chronicle of Current Events
On 21 August 1968, the forces of five member-countries of the Warsaw Pact carried out a treacherous and unprovoked attack on Czechoslovakia. The aggressive actions of the USSR and her allies met with a sharp rebuff from world public opinion.
This issue of the Chronicle will deal with the events in our country which in one way or another are connected with the question of Czechoslovakia. The facts show clearly that even in conditions which practically preclude the possibility of resistance, the struggle for the realization in practice of the principles of humanism and justice has not ceased.
