NOTES
The Chronicle of Human Rights in the USSR (CHR, CCE 29.1) was published, in English and Russian, from 1972 to 1983, by the Khronika Press in New York (director, Valery Chalidze).
It began publication at a time when the Chronicle of Current Events had been threatened by the KGB into temporary silence (CCE 28.0). In all 48 issues were published.
*
The Khronika Press also published each new issue of the Chronicle of Current Events in Russian after the typescript had reached the West. The contents of CHR and the Chronicle overlap but additional texts were included in CHR.
