Today I am adding a further aid for those who want to use this unique resource, a Name Index providing links to reports about several hundred individuals whose words and activities were recorded in the Chronicle between 1968 and 1982.

This complements the 18 Contents pages posted a short while ago.

Neither is yet complete, but together they endow the material and information accumulated over 15 years with the traditional aids of the original printed version.

This website is, necessarily, a hybrid form.

Now accessible throughout the world, the entries in each issue of the Chronicle have been edited (sub-headings, numbered entries) to provide the generous layout that was not available before, either in the original typewritten samizdat form or the small print-runs of the English version.

On the other hand, neither the tagging of many names nor yet the Open Search are satisfactory ways of tracking down the recorded actions and statements of the many mentioned in the bulletin’s 65 issues.

Establishing most of the links mentioned in the printed reports led to the accumulation of several hundred names. These now make up the new Index; they will also help to decide which names are added to the Tag Cloud at the bottom of the page, or retained there.
